The Whole City Heard the Word!

As they went out, the people begged that these things might be told them the next Sabbath. And after the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who, as they spoke with them, urged them to continue in the grace of God. The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. (Acts 13:42-44).

Beyond Forgotten {Our Summer Village}

There is but one road leading to the isolated town, our summer village. A place little touched by time, by technology’s progress, or by the frenetic pace of getting ahead. Thirteen years had passed since our last visit. And though fewer, we found the inhabitants much the same. The wrinkled faces of the old had changed; many we knew before passed on. Would You Be Afraid?

After days aboard the boat from Africa, they’d arrived in a safe haven. The pleasant refugee camp we visit. (If we dare call a refugee camp pleasant.) Situated in a shady, wooded campground, a short walk from the beach. They’ve landed in a good place. And there they sat in a group, waiting for the day to pass.
